Responsible Materials & Production
At Montesere, we believe true luxury is not only defined by how a bag looks, but by how it is made.
Every material we use is selected with intention. From the texture of the leather to the feel of the lining, every detail is chosen to create pieces that feel refined, durable and timeless. We work with production partners who understand the importance of careful sourcing, skilled craftsmanship and responsible manufacturing.
While the fashion industry continues to move toward clearer standards and better transparency, we believe responsibility starts with asking better questions. Where do our materials come from? How are they processed? Who makes the product? And how can we create pieces that are made to last, rather than made to be replaced?
Our Approach
Carefully Selected Materials
We choose materials based on quality, durability and feel. Our goal is to create handbags that hold their shape, age beautifully and remain part of your wardrobe for years.
Trusted Production Partners
We work with experienced production partners who understand the precision required to create refined handbags. From cutting and stitching to shaping and finishing, every step requires care and attention to detail.
Better Standards, Step by Step
There is no single universal standard that defines responsible fashion. Many certifications focus on just one part of the process, such as raw materials, tanning, dyeing, factory conditions or environmental management. That is why we continue to look at the bigger picture: material quality, supplier responsibility, production standards and long-term durability.
Made to Last
For us, responsibility also means creating fewer, better pieces. A handbag that keeps its shape, remains elegant and can be worn season after season is a more thoughtful choice than something designed to be quickly replaced.
Certifications & Supply Chain Standards
Across the fashion industry, several independent standards help verify responsible practices at different stages of the supply chain. These may include standards related to raw materials, tanning, textile processing, factory safety, worker wellbeing, environmental management and chemical use.
Examples of recognized industry standards include:
Leather Working Group
Focuses on environmental practices within leather production, including traceability, energy use, water consumption, waste management and chemical handling.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100
Helps verify that textiles and materials have been tested for harmful substances.
Global Recycled Standard
Certifies recycled content and supports social, environmental and chemical requirements in production.
Global Organic Textile Standard
Applies to organic textile fibers and includes requirements around chemical use, environmental impact and processing.
FSC
Supports responsible management of forests and plant-based resources used for materials such as cellulose fibers and packaging.
ISO Standards
International standards that may cover areas such as quality management, environmental management and social responsibility.
SMETA / Sedex
A widely used ethical trade audit framework covering labor standards, health and safety, environmental practices and business ethics.
WRAP
Focuses on lawful, ethical and safe manufacturing practices in apparel and sewn products.
Our Commitment
We are continuously working to improve the way our products are made. As Montesere grows, our goal is to build deeper relationships with our suppliers, improve visibility across our supply chain and make responsible choices wherever possible.
Because timeless design should feel good in your hand, in your wardrobe and in the way it was made.
